Adult acne is absolutely a disagreeable thing to have, particularly if you are a woman and care on how you look. If you observed the acne you had when you were 15 has come again in your 30s, rest assured, you’re in good company. Around 25% of men and 50% of women will suffer from adult acne at some point in their life. One in five women between the ages of 25 and 40 has adult acne. It doesn’t matter what age you are acne is difficult to deal with, and it can cause depression and other social problems just like it does in a teenager growing up.

Acne has a tendency to run in families. If one of your parents possessed acne at any point in their lives, your possibility of adult onset acne is higher. In addition, adults with oily skin forms are more apt to acne breakouts. If you’re suffering there’s no reason to give up hope yet. Acne treatments are more effective now than they have ever been, and more natural cures are coming to light because of the way they deal with the problem from the root cause.

Hormones are to blame for a lot of cases of adult acne. In women the birth control pill, pregnancy and menstruation commonly cause acne because of the hormonal changes they cause. As well as hormonal changes, there are other reasons for acne breakouts in adults.

Acne can also be caused by bad cosmetics and stress. Stress can lead to over productive oil glands. Your pores have a much higher risk of being blocked with bacteria if you wear bad cosmetics. These things can easily be reversed if you think that they’re causing your acne breakouts

Your doctor can prescribe chemical based treatments for your acne or you can treat yourself naturally. Where years ago everyone would need a chemical treatment, natural cures are being used by more sufferers. We can thank researchers for this, and they now know that acne has a cause like most other infections, and natural cures attack the acne from the cause.

However you choose to treat your acne is up to you. Everyone will use a different treatment because everyone has a different cause of their poor skin. You just have to find what treatment works best for you.
