A beautiful website design can never compensate slow performance in any website design. One very common occurrence in many websites owned by amateurs is the use of fancy graphic works that need a very long time to load them.

2) Reduce the number of banners on your site: When banners are displayed on a web page, they are usually right at the top but can frequently be seen located elsewhere, including the foot of the page also. Even the least net savvy people have trained themselves to ignore banner advertisements so you will be wasting valuable space. Instead add useful contents and add your affiliate links skillfully into the body of the text so that it would seem like a natural part of your text and not an advertisement.

3) Stick with an easy navigational system: Keep navigation simple so that the youngest user can use it. It is good to leave out any fancy flash menus or even multi-tiered drop down menus, they only serve to make navigating the site harder. If you make it difficult for them, they will leave your site. 4) Let it be clear on the user where he is at the moment: Give them a clear view of where they are now and how to get to where they want to be. This way, they can head to the right information they are looking for. 5) Try to leave the audios out from your design: If you wish for your visitors to stay long enough to read the contents, do not loop your music file in a way that irritates. A sound file should not be played continuously it can be irritating on the user. It may be a cool thing to include some music but do give your users some form of control such as muting ability or volume control.
