For those who are very concerned with safety, you can also use your helmet to make sure you’re visible on the road. Buy a solid color, bright helmet, and attach a reflective strip to the back.

There are motorcycle helmet tips for the proper care of your helmet as well. Though many riders do it, you should never hand your helmet from your bikes handle bars. If it drops, it will be damaged.

You should also never store any helmet near your bikes gas tank. The vapors will cause it to break down, leaving you with less protection. A helmet should also never be left in direct sunlight.

Perhaps the most important motorcycle helmet tip is to never ride with a damaged helmet. If your helmet looks damaged, or has been dropped or involved in a crash, it will be worthless in terms of protection.
