If you are the lucky owner of a PSP, you know how expensive it can get to have to buy new games at store all the time. However, one of the nicest features of the PSP is that you can find free PSP game downloads that you can use anytime you want a new game.

One of the most common questions we get from PSP owners is where they can go to find free PSP game downloads. I thought it would be a good idea to go over that today.

You have three many options when you are looking for free PSP downloads.

Option Number One

You first option is to run a search for websites that advertise having “free PSP downloads”. They aren’t that hard to find, but there are a few things you need to know before you click on that ‘download now’ button.

The first thing you have to look out for are viruses and spyware. There have been a number of these websites that have been shut down for spreading infections so make sure you are extra cautious.

It seems the most common beef people have with these websites is that they have very slow download speeds. You can literally wait days for a game to finish downloading. You will also find that a lot of the games don’t even work on your PSP. It’s frustrating waiting so long to download something and then find out that it doesn’t work.

These websites aren’t monitored or properly maintained so we typically recommend staying away from them. They usually end up just being a headache in the longrun.

Option #2

This next option eliminates the problems found it the first one but it will cost a few dollars. There are PSP membership websites that let you download any game you want for a monthly membership fee (about $30-$40).

If you are planning on downloading quite a few games each month, this is fairly good option. You will get download speeds that are much fast than the first option and you don’t have to worry about viruses or spyware since these sites are monitored.

Although we don’t mind this option, there are cheaper ways of finding PSP games and movies that you can download.

Option #3

This last option ends up being a lot cheaper than option #2 and lets you use as many downloads as you want.

There are PSP download websites that will only charge you a one-time fee for unlimited downloads. You only pay the one-time fee (roughly $35-$45) and then can download as many games, movies or music as you want for as long as you have your system.

The companies that are running these websites are obviously in this to make a profit, so they make sure their customers are happy. They invest a good amount of money in their systems to make sure the downloads are fast, all the files work and that their selection is always up to date.

You can use the link at the bottom of this article if you want to learn how to get a free trial at a couple of the top ranked PSP download sites. The software needed to transfer PSP games onto your system is included and the setup only takes about 5 minutes.

Once you start downloading PSP games it’s unlikely that you will ever buy a game from the store again. Downloading them saves you a lot of money and is also a lot more convenient.

As more and more people start to find out about PSP downloads, I imagine that the PSP download membership websites will become the “standard” way to get new games and movies. It’s an incredibly easy and inexpensive way to keep your PSP stocked with the newest and most popular games. Happy gaming!
