Everybody says the money is in the list and truthfully, theyre right. But if you dont have much of a list to speak of, there may not be much money. Here are 3 tips for making the most of your list building efforts.
1. Ask for the Opt-In Everywhere: Include opt-in forms on your content pages and other places where you provide valuable information to your potential customers. If people love your content, theyre going to want more of it and its the perfect opportunity to offer them more. Be sure to include a good headline and a compelling reason to subscribe to go with your opt-in form.
2. Offer a Subscription in Your Distributed Content: Use your article bylines, YouTube videos, targeted advertising campaigns etc. to promote more of your free mailing list, instead of a product. Conversion to a product sale will be lower than getting them into an opt-in list and once you have them on your opt-in list, you can reach your prospects over and over again.
#3 Make sure your subscribers tell their friends. Make a simple request for your subscribers to tell others about their good experiences with your service or product. You can also create a lot of buzz by offering top level content. Perhaps consider creating an affiliate of incentive program that would encourage subscribers to bring others to see what they are missing.
There are tons of ways to build your list, but the most targeted subscribers will be those who already enjoy your content. Make sure that you capture more of the people who consume your content, so you can market to them over and over again with your mailing list.
