The Best Comedies Out This Year: Free Music Ringtone
This year American filmakers brought movie lovers well over 275 films. From this collection, I think at least seventy, maybe more, are meant to tickle our funny bones. The following are some of the best good comedies made this year.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: This is obviously the next in the sequence to the box office hit Madagascar. Our cast of lost animals, Alex (Lion), Marty (Zebra), Glorial (Hippo), and Melman (Giraffe) want to return to New York’s famous Central Park Zoo, putting an end to thier incredible adventure. Instead, as the Penguins are up to their old tricks, they find themselves going to their true homeland, Africa.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Heavy pot smoker Dale Denton, in a stroke of bad luck, has seen a crooked police man, and the local drug king pin, kill someone. He was spotted, and they know he has seen the killing. Knowing they’ve seen him, he drops his joint of pineapple express, and he flees. This joint is such a unique type of weed, that the bad guys can trace it. The chase is on, as Dale and his dealer Saul are on the run.
HAMLET 2: Dana Marshz, formerly a small time actor, has moved on to teaching the high school theater classes to students who just don’t care. When they lose a building at the campus, the powers to be feel the theater curriculum will be what is dropped. Now fully motivated, he is on a mission to save the theater classes by producing Hamlet 2, a new version of the classic, which is his own work.
GET SMART: Agent 86 is at it again, “and loving it”. The classic James Bond spy spoof, gadgets galore, and all the great one liners. This is a modern day version that looks back at the world of KAOS and CONTROL.
TROPIC THUNDER: With a collection of acting greats this movie is a spoof on vietnam war movies. In order to inspire the over rated cast of actors to see the movie be a success, the now venturesome director into the middle of nowhere, leaving them to fend for themselves. The goal is to scare them so they will produce a work of genius, that will be recorded on hidden cameras. When the director steps on an old land mine and dies, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they start acting, thinking it’s a big set, when things start to get very real. Written, directed, and acted in, by Ben Stiller.
STEP BROTHERS: When two 40 year olds, who both live at home with one parent, find themselves having to share a room because their parents marry, you have one crazy situation. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell in those roles, and this seems to be a great recipe for lots of laughs. This movie is a best bet for a good laugh in 2008.
FORGETTING SAHRAH MARSHALL: Grief stricken from a tough split with his girlfriend Sarah, a TV actress, Peter (Jason Segal) decides to get away to Hawaii to start anew and forget about Sarah. As one might expect, when he checks into the resort hotel, the first people he sees are his ex and her new man, a rock star super stud. This movie has all the ingredients of a thoughtful romantic comedy.
ROLE MODELS: Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (William Scott), who promote an energy drink, might be seeing some hard jail time after trashing the company truck. The way they can avoid being locked up is by doing communuty service. The problem is they will need to work as mentors with difficult children in a big brother type situation. A good situation for some good laughs.
ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: The bills aren’t getting paid and Zack and Miri, roomates and good friends, need to come up with some cash soon. What’s their solution? Oh, thats easy, make pornos. As you might expect this sets the stage for lots of laughs.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Full time stoner Dale Denton has just witnessed a crooked cop, and a powerful drug dealer, commit a murder. The killers know he has seen what’s gone down. Knowing they’ve seen him, he is so shaken he throws down his joint, a rare blend namend pineapple express, and he flees. The weed is so special, that the bad guys can. The game is on, the bad guys are hunting, and Dale and dealer Saul are on the run.
