Music downloads via the internet have come a long way in a small amount of time. Just a few short years ago music companies and individual artist were in an uproar over music download sites.

Napster and other music download sites allow users to share and download music without a fee, and people who would never do something that was illegal thought it was okay to obtain music for free, and stopped going to stores to purchase it!

It grew to such popularity that the sales of new records bottomed out and artists were losing millions of dollars. Many sites like Napster were charged with pirating music and the industry managed to get these businesses to close.

Previously Napster and other such websites may have lost it, but now they are back with completely legal music downloads which are still free to join.

Legal music downloads are becoming more and more popular due to the rise of the MP3 player. The digital revolution made buying legal music downloads a must for many people. People no longer feel its okay to get music for free especially with the risk of persecution. This new attitude has helped the industry continue to expand. Some people still choose to get free music downloads through illegal means but more often than not they pay the price.

Many sites are available and they offer music for free. But you may find that you get what you pay for. Free music often comes with a price. It is common for the music to contain adware, spyware, and viruses that could permanently disable your computers. When you download from these sites you put yourself at risk and could even have charges brought against you for pirating music.

Do not take risk either for your computer or for yourself and insist on downloading legally available music from reputed websites only.
