You can just take three minutes out of your day to do carpal exercises and give yourself a lot of relief. That’s not much time, considering you’re probably awake at least 15 hours a day. To get relief from carpal tunnel syndrome, you’re going to do exercises probably 45 minutes a day, but you can do them three minutes at a time. Is that worth getting relief from carpal tunnel syndrome, or even avoiding getting it at all?

What you need to do is to be smart about your carpal tunnel exercises. Don’t say, “I don’t have time,” because three minutes is all you need at any one time, and you certainly have that. You have the time to do it, as long as you’re smart about it. Think about how much time you spend on your cell phone or checking e-mails. If you can do that, you can do carpal tunnel exercises.

The 3 Minute Rule

Once every hour, it’s important to do at least one exercise. Depending on your occupation you may even want to do them for 5 minutes. However, we’ll start you off small and let you decide from here on out. Anytime you feel the extensive feeling in your arms like you’ve been straining, stop. Do an exercise and then continue. If you aren’t having any problems at all, then just do these carpal tunnel exercises at the half way point of each hour.

Doing wrist circles

We like this exercise because it’s easy. Have you ever seen an umpire signal a homerun? This is something like you’re going to do for this particular exercise, except you’re going to extend your index and middle fingers and then do a clockwise motion. Do both hands, alternating between the two of them.

If you really want to get a good workout with this, alternate the fingers as well. If you use the index and middle finger for the first set, try using the middle and ring finger for your next one. Keep doing it until you’ve combined each of the fingers, but make sure they are always ones right next to each other. Your wrists will feel relieved when you’re done.

If you forget

There are going to be times where you forget to remember to do your carpal tunnel exercises. However, if you start off with something like the Wrist Circles, it won’t feel like you’re exercising at all. The good news is you will still get the benefits of combating carpal tunnel and be able to continue your normal workday without hesitation.

It’s also a good idea to do a couple of carpal tunnel exercises both when you first get up and just before you go to bed. It’s a good way to both start and end the day. If you get smart about your exercises, the routines will be ingrained before you know it. And it may mean that you won’t get carpal tunnel syndrome at all.
